During the creation of Nudes in the Snow, the final piece of this series, I was immersed in what felt like a purification of my entire existence. The sky was painted during a fast, and with each brush stroke old narratives, old habits, and thought patterns seemingly fell away, with each layer of paint. The mountains, made entirely of paper, are associated with freedom and peace. Mountains are thought to contain divine inspiration with spiritual elevation. Each ridge denotes constancy and permanence, while each peak signifies a state of absolute consciousness. Creating the cool blue snow was quite tedious, yet deeply restorative. 

The birch trees were carefully constructed to represent security and resilience. Because of birch trees' unique ability to grow in even the most hostile and harsh environments, they stand for new beginnings, hope, and renewal. Did you spot the snowy owl? I was tickled when I found this image in a Harper's Bazaar magazine ad! It was serendipitous. I chose to include the snowy owl because they hold the spiritual meaning of attaining wisdom through hardship. Personally, the owl represents the fearlessness, courage, and independence one needs when overcoming obstacles. Lastly, they symbolize a connection to the divine, while sharing the gift of higher knowledge and insight.

As previously stated in all other artwork statements in this series, the figures in my work are representative of the healing journey. Not only to honor my own personal recovery and restoration, both physically and mentally, but also the healing and ascension of the earth and the human race. It is my hope that the powerful intentions I placed within my work will resonate with the viewers on a profound level.
