II THE HIGH PRIESTESS (2025)
20in x 30in
Mixed Media: Hand-Cut Found Editorial
and Acrylic on Canvas
This work is a physical reclamation of wisdom. Built almost entirely from an excavation of high-fashion editorial, The High Priestess deconstructs the fleeting glamour of mass media to reveal the ancient archetype hidden beneath the gloss. By layering these modern fragments into a new geometry, the piece forces a confrontation between the temporary pulse of "now" and the immovable weight of the Tarot.
She sits as the guardian of the threshold—the quiet point where intuition overrides intellect. Flanked by the pillars of light and shadow, she holds the boundary of the sacred unknown, her veil patterned with pomegranates to signal the fertility of the subconscious.
In this work, the ephemeral is granted a sharp, singular permanence. What was once a disposable image in a magazine has been sacrificed and reconstructed, mirroring the Priestess herself: a figure who transmutes the ordinary into the divine.
