The third work in this five-part series, Nudes in the Desert, was born from a period of intentional simplification, a deliberate release of all distraction and stagnation. The piece builds on my signature paper painting technique, layering hand-cut publication fragments over a targeted acrylic base.

The composition grew from the sky down: a soft blue acrylic base framing an ombré sun built from yellow paper fragments, casting warmth across desert sand while cacti rise against the horizon. Shaping the figures required iteration after iteration, taking form only after releasing expected outcomes.

Continuing the trine motif across the series, three figures carry forward the sacred balance of mind, body, and spirit. Adorned with radiant gold paper jewelry, they stand against the vast expanse as a reflection on the grace and perseverance that take hold in demanding seasons.
